Cecilia Z.
Cecilia earned Eagle Scout on September 22, 2021 as Troop 139's first Eagle. She joined Scouts BSA on February 1, 2019, the first day girls were allowed in the program. During her scouting journey, she was able to attend high adventure bases Sea Base and Philmont. Cecilia earned 9 Eagle Palms and numerous other awards. For her Eagle Project, Cecilia built 2 platforms for her church's nature trail. They provide a place for meditation and prayer along the path. |
Rachel K.
Rachel earned Eagle Scout on January 31, 2023. She joined Scouts BSA in December 2019 and was very excited to start her scouting journey. In addition to her many roles in the troop, Rachel also has held many positions in the council's Order of the Arrow lodge, including Lodge Quartermaster and Etowah Chapter Chief and is a recipient of the Crenshaw Family Arrowman of the Year Award. She has served on both S.E.A.L.S. staff (6x, including as Senior Patrol Leader) and NYLT staff (4x, including 2x as Senior Patrol Leader), Wood Badge youth staff, and was Senior Patrol Leader of the Mecklenburg County Council female contingent to the 2023 National Scout Jamboree at The Summit. She attended the National Order of the Arrow Conference in 2022 and 2024. Additionally, she has worked on summer camp staff at Camp Grimes. Rachel has earned 7 Eagle Palms and other awards, as well. For her Eagle Project, Rachel created a beautiful mural for her synagogue's religious school to display butterflies painted as part of the Butterfly Project seminar, a Holocaust education program. |
